Advice needed - timing chain

The piston stop procedure is not actually a part of "routine" timing chain replacement. Timing marks cannot "relocate" during a timing chain replacement, as the marks are related to crankshaft position, not camshaft position.. Although, it is a procedure of precision for degreeing in a camshaft position for high performance race engines.. When the balancer ring is suspected of rotating out of position, piston stop is a good way to determine this.. One or two degrees off would be considered acceptable, but any more than that and the balancer should be replaced.
