Front hub - do I have a problem?

'66 C20. I'm seeing 2 lines inside the hub, diametrically opposite each other and each centered on the square notch. I THINK they are something from casting or machining, but want to be sure they're not cracks. Opinions?

Re: Front hub - do I have a problem?

Cast metals do not usually crack only partway, they don't really flex - they just crack completely. What does the other side look like? Any cracks on the machined surface?

You could hang it by a wrench or on a nail and give it a wee rap with a hammer - if it rings, it's likely fine, if it's more of a thud, it may actually be cracked.
