Best Steering Box for 72 K10 4x4 ?

Greetings all............years ago I replaced my worn-out steering box with an AFR unit that has failed prematurely. Now needing to replace the box again, only now looking for the best box out there to replace it with. Certainly not another AFR. Any recommendations welcomed. Thanks.

Never heard of AFR? Maybe you mean AGR? AGR used to be a one to go to, but have heard nothing good about them for many years now. Am using a PSC box and ram assist on my truck. Seems to be used on a lot of competition vehicles is the reason I went that way. As an alternative to what I am using, I have seen posts about Redhead boxes that people have been happy with. Good luck with your choice.

Thanks for the response Richard. You're right......it is an AGR that has failed - fat-fingered error. My searches have resulted in a couple I was considering - Detroit Axle and Duralast. The latter is priced over $900, and that's why I'm still looking. Have you heard anything good on the Detroit?
