Re: 350 engine oil capacity

That is the general consensus that they take 5 qts., Pontiac Jim on a GTO forum gave the best explanation I have seen as to why Pontiac did it, (in 66&67 they went to 6+1, then dropped back to 5+1 in 68,69,70...maybe Chevy thought it was a good idea so why not? Am getting these specs from 69 Pontiac service manual, 70 Motors Manual, and 70 Chevy truck chassis manual. All show 6 qts. w/filter change. Thought these were the final word until a couple years ago found out from a guy at Autowire that the Chevy manual page 12-40 (top left of page) is completely wrong on the wiring diagram for the wiper motor! And they are still selling reprints with no correction that I know of. As to the Kia, wouldnt think there is more than a couple tblspns. of oil in turbo lines? Know Im spending way too much time on this lol, but it seems if the finish on a bolt on a child restraint device is suspect a global recall is launched, but oil capacity and wiring diagrams "forget it, they will figure it out". Still love the hobby!
