Re: Brake lights mounted to bumper: legal or not?

You'll probably be good to go with that setup, but really wouldn't you like to just get it working like normal? It's probably just the turn signal switch is bad, or a wire going to it. We're here to help if you can't figure it out with a test light or multimeter. The electrical section of the forum is ready. I suggest get an electrical diagram for your truck.

I'm betting on the turn signal switch.

I'll stick my neck out and say that you were pulled over for something a little unusual as a "safe stop" for a junior officer- not looking likely to cause a ruckus.

Re: Brake lights mounted to bumper: legal or not?

I suspect that the officers used me & my old truck to do a routine paper check. Did I mention that the young lady officer asked why I wasn’t wearing my shoulder seatbelt?

Yes, I would have preferred that the brake lights be fixed back to normal. The instrument panel lights don’t work either, so it’s really dark in the cab driving at night. Related?

Maybe. Need that electric diagram and pictures of wiring, fuse panel, etc. to suggest further.
