Last batch. Changed the last pic. This is how the Harley gets strapped in. After I had this worked out, I cut the excess off and melted the ends to prevent fraying.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
Real nice setup. The conduit is a great idea for all exposed wires. Mice love to chew the wires especially on something like a trailer that sits unused a lot.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
I went to the track to try out my new motor in the S10. Had a great time. Scary at first but finely got it to go straight.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
It's a 2000 Xtreme. This is the third motor in it. Each one got a little nastier. First engine was a 383 with just over 500hp. The second motor was a built 374 with just over 600hp. Now this third motor is a built 430 with just over 700hp. I put this truck together to handle more than 1000hp just in case I decided to go bigger. So, all I really had to do was build the motors, the rest of the truck was fine, very little change.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
If you have never changed a battery in a 2020 Tahoe (I'm sure a few other models too) your in for a real treat.
The wife's original factory battery finally gave up the ghost the other day so I found out the task of changing it is no longer a simple operation lol. You have to completely remove the air cleaner housing then loosen and slide the coolant overflow tank forward to have room to get it out. It has a positive and ground distribution block that straddles the top of the battery with 5 cables attached, all of that plus a brace over the battery. Nothing overly difficult it's just not a 15 minute job anymore. |

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
Did you have to do something to maintain power to the computers while you disconnected the battery? I think some vehicles require it.

I did watch a youtube video (hoping for a shortcut) which showed turning the battery on its side for removal without taking everything else apart (coolant/air box) but it did not work for me as I was afraid of snapping the plastic mounting tabs on the coolant tank off, then we have another problem. On that distribution panel/busbar that sits on top of the battery it has a blue multi-wire connector it feeds that appears to power the computer, you can leave that connected as I did, and I suppose connect remote 12 volts to it but it would be right in the way of what your trying to do IMHO. |

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
There's a gizmo one can buy at the parts store that uses a 9 volt battery, and plugs into the electrical system. It has enough energy to keep the memory alive until the battery is switched out. I have my batteries tested when they've been in our vehicles for awhile, just to see where they are at. I'd rather replace a battery early than have my wife stranded someplace because I wanted to squeeze the last electron out of a battery. These days, batteries do not fail gracefully. Used to be you could tell, when the engine started cranking over a bit slower. Now, you drive someplace and come out to a failed battery. Come to think of it, it's time to go through the rotation with our vehicles having the batteries tested.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
After many months of my bike sitting in pieces, I got it back together. I installed some silicon coolant lines to replace the 26 year old rubber ones. The body work needs to be installed still. Now I just wish I could ride it
