Chickasha Okla. Fall Swap Meet?

Curious if any members here have recently been to the Chickasha Okla. fall swap meet in mid-October recently within last couple years? I have been there many times thru the years but have not been able to attend for some time now. Used to attend Friday all day, motel for the night and then again Saturday leaving for home mid Saturday afternoon. Always had a good time but as mentioned have not been able to make it last couple years.

Thus the question: Does it seem recently to be a better swap meet on Friday or Saturday now days? Can only make it one day this year so.....trying to decide if a Friday trip or a Saturday trip is on order? Thoughts on either day are appreciated.

Friday is always a better day for a swap meet. Some things can sell fast, yhat migh be gone by next day.
It's not nearly as large, one day is all you need. Still worth visiting.I'm not sure if I'm going this fall.
This year is Oct 17-19

Re: Chickasha Okla. Fall Swap Meet?

Thanks for the reply. Was kinda thinking Friday over Saturday but as have not been there for last several years thought things could have changed some what. I remember when it was held on the county fairgrounds quite some time ago. Thought it was a bigger and better meet then than last couple times I went but times changes everything it seems.

Have made a couple good buys there in the past. Bought my true truck AM/FM radio there and also the floor shift tilt column for my '71 Chevelle. The thrill of the hunt...kid in a candy shop thing comes into play at a good swap meet for me, LOL.

Re: Chickasha Okla. Fall Swap Meet?

Made the Chickasha swap meet yesterday and was rather disappointed. No where near the vendors there as there had been in past meets. Not much of a customer crowd either in my eyes. Got there about 8:00 in the morning and walked thru what was there. Seen some vendors who were packing up around 12:30 - 1:00 . Vendors were really spread out with a lot of vacant spaces that I recall being filled last time I was there. Seems it has gone gone quite a bit quality wise in my opinion.

Any one else make it to Chickaha this past weekend.? Thoughts on the meet?

Glad you did an update on this. I had been wondering if it was worth the drive.

Eric, I would definitely say it is not worth your drive and effort to make the drive from Minnesota. The times my BIL went years ago it was well worth the 175 mile drive for us. Found many parts for my 71 4x4 restore and also for my 71 Chevelle. Found the floor shift tilt column for my Chevelle there and also the factory truck AM/FM for my 71 4x4. This was the first time I had been able to go in quite some time. As much as I like swap meets I'm not sure it is even worth my time and effort to make the trip again. Sure isn't what it used to be.
