Normal routing of headlight wires

Hi folks, what is the normal way the headlight wiring would have been routed for a 1963 C10? As you see right now it's probably just table lamp wire draped across the bumper brackets. And there is a ground wire coming out of a gap near the radiator and wrapping around the main negative battery cable and attached to engine. Looks funky to me and I'd like to straighten it out. The main charging cable between the horn relay and battery look pretty good, it's going through holes on both sides of the radiator support and going through clips under the top of the radiator support. I wonder if the headlight wires used to go along that path. What's the most proper way?

Re: Normal routing of headlight wires

There should be plastic brackets in the grille to which the cable is attached, but they may be broken.

Re: Normal routing of headlight wires

On my 62 the headlight wires ran from a plug in the driver side firewall along the inner fender to a grommet/plug in the driver side radiator support. It fed the left headlight and then the right. There were white plastic clips with small plugs that held the harness in place behind the grill. If you are cleaning up wiring, this would be a good opportunity to put in a couple of relays for your headlights.
