My lands, those are outrageous. $40 for a snap together 1/25 scale? They don't do anything more than they originally did.
I would expect to pay up for an old model no longer in production but there is a limit to everything ya know? When I was a kid models were sold in most all drug stores and the like (before big box stores or actual toy stores) and the GOOD 1/25 scale models like AMT 3 n 1 kits were $1.50 - $2.00 . At these prices the smarter buy would be a diecast, already painted and assembled model that would hold up better than plastic ones but it takes away the build aspect of it.
