1973 Cheyenne - Fresh Paint

I've been messing with this hobby for 30+ years and never had a full repaint on a rig. I bought this as a 'patina' truck but turns out it really wasn't. Some repaint and lots of aftermarket parts; fender, bumpers, trim, bezels, etc... Found a good body and paint guy so I decided to pony up and make it nice. Assembling now and so far very happy. First pic is 'BEFORE', pretty straight and rust free - I added a white top.

Great looker .. I miss the one I had

I bought a brand new 73 off the show room floor and it wasnt over 5 years and the front rear fenders rusted out ,, I took good care of this truck, washed and waxed it and at that time there was no salt on the highways,, I figured there was a trap in the fenders for water and mud to stay after me washing it that cause these places to rust through.. how are yours as for rust in these places ,, , I believe there are a shortage of 1973's survivals due to this rust problem this year had

GOPAPA, nice looking truck you had there. Did you order it or find it on the lot? My dad bought a red 73 C10 new in Iowa and it started bubbling above the rear wheel wells after that first winter! Yes hard to find a 73 that’s not rusted out or repaired. This is a California truck. There was a little bubbling in the bottom corners of the door skins. Super solid everywhere else. It now lives in Phoenix area so it should remain dry and rust free!

It was on the show room floor , and acually they told me it wasn't for sale as it was a show truck ..they offered to order me one or sell another long box to me and me being young maybe a bit smart mouth .. told them or I will go to the next town and buy one even if I have to order it.. They said wait a minute and went and talked to the owner of the dealership and came back with,, " step into my office as you have just bought yourself the truck "
