Got a little more bed liner sprayed. that's all I can do until I do some assembly.

Started wet sanding color, rear fenders first. The top half is done with 2000 and the bottom is only 1200 so far.

Re: norms 55 chevy pu build

i have had great luck with a slow running garden hose placed above the area to be sanded. it makes a mess but works well.
looking good, thanks for the pics

Re: norms 55 chevy pu build

I have also used a big sponge above the sanding area and used clean water to replenish the sponge. since the sponge doesn't go in a dirty bucket the water is always clean too, no sanding "dust" from the bucket that way as the sanding byproduct just runs off. I find it works better than dipping the sander into the bucket

The sponge idea is a good one, I'll try that.

Tons of wet make for clean hands, lol. Next: the 2 steps in front of the fenders, the 2 box sides, the front panel, the rear panel below the endgate, then the endgate. One short sentence, but many hours.

Re: norms 55 chevy pu build

Made the steps a little smoother and shinier today. The 2 compounds do a good job of eliminating 2000 scratches. Since I had to move the front bumper to get to the steps I sanded and buffed it too, forgot to photo it tho.

Re: norms 55 chevy pu build

Thanks, I had it together several times when building, but, I wasn't at all worried about chipping, scratching, or dropping stuff then, lol. Now I'm nervous just walking around the shop.
