Now, I hate to even bring this up but I found this thing in the area I'm working on the transmission and I THINK it might go in the tail housing at the end of the driven speedo gear??? It fit there well but is this right??? Do I even need it???

Without it there is quite a bit of side to side play on the driven gear but with in it tightens it up nicely. Is it typical for the driven gears to have side to side play?

Working on transmissions is fun!
