'97 Suburban 2500 7.4 just took a dump!

'97 Suburban 2500 7.4 will not start and no codes. Got back from town and the thing ran fine, unloaded groceries and went to start it and it ran rough, so I turn it off and started it again, still ran rough. Unhooked the battery for a few minutes, still ran rough, unhooked the battery overnight. Hooked up the battery this morning and will not start at all. Put the scanner on it and said no codes. Time for a rollback to the mechanic I guess.

That was the conditions on all my trucks when the fuel pump went out.

Could be a crank sensor too. When the one in my 98 with 7.4 went out it had no codes and wouldn’t start. I had an 8.1 in a 01 suburban that did the same thing too. Fuel pressure you can check up at the schrader valve at the base of the front of the intake. If it’s not gushing out after turning the key to the on position for 5 seconds and then turning it back off and waiting about 10 seconds the pump is certainly suspect.
