Meet Sarah, The Medium Blue Beast
Well this whole 67-72 bug started back in 2007 when I bought a 72 Longhorn when in High school. Ended up selling it and had a few square bodies and now I am back to the 67-72 series again.
I bought this truck about 3 months ago in Medina, TX, which is about an hour and half northwest of San Antonio. Found it on Facebook and drove out from Houston. The gentleman I got it from had it about 9 months and it ran when he got it. He told me the starter "ran away" on him one day and he hadn't touched it in 6 months. With that, I towed her home and put a new starter and battery on it and it worked great. I drove it quite a bit and came across a heck of a deal. I work for a large tool company and had 2 tool boxes and only needed one. So I naturally traded one for a complete pull out of a 2001 6.0 and 4L80E from a 2500HD truck with 120,000 miles. Farm truck where the body was garbage but the engine ran like a top. You can see where this is going. I am pulling the 350 which runs great and putting in the 6.0. I plan to do the body work a little at a time, but keep it running while I do it. I also want to shorten the bed and convert to 5 lug at some point. But for now, just the engine swap.
