1964-1966 Radio Cut Out and ipod

I have 1965 with original factory radio cut-out. I am considering putting a hidden ipod system in similar to

I've gotta get a decent looking AM radio that is not pitted (does not need to work) that fits my cutout..I know 1964-1966 trucks were all the same size cutout....I have also read here

that 1963 and 1964 full size car am radios will fit also, but there could be issues with the right shaft being recessed. Anyone have any first hand knowledge on this?
