Cracks in Hubcaps

I’ve got a nice set of Original ‘66 chrome caps but unfortunately one has a crack. I have some questions and concerns about using it. I know some of you may have dealt with this as well.

What’s the likelihood of this crack getting worse if I use it? I worry that I could possibly lose this one if I run it.

Would you attempt to repair it and if so, how? Would I be better off retiring this one to the wall and looking for another one with no cracks?

One fellow enthusiast suggested it would be ok to run it but I should place the crack in between the nubs on wheel. I don’t really think that would help myself but could be wrong?

I’ve thought of some repair ideas and open to suggestions. 1) Clean and strip the inside where crack is down to brass and solder or JB weld in a brass or stainless strip of metal across the crack. 2) JB weld in a strip of metal and drill and pop rivet with SS rivet on either side of crack. I’m afraid the heat would discolor the chrome if silver soldered?

Your thoughts and opinions welcome.
