Question Stupid Question

I have a '97 2WD dually that I am currently fixing. The front end is straight up shot and wore out on this old farm truck and needs new everything. Well, I think it is a little on the tall side (not really but I love the lowered look) so, stupid question time, how do I lower it slightly while keeping the factory size wheels and tires and still be able to tow and haul? No bags or anything just factory but lower. Sorry but I know basically nothing about lowering a truck, growing up a farm boy we don't ever really see them. Any suggestions or ideas?
