Dana 44 knuckle question

I am looking for replacement knuckles for my '72 Blazer. The knuckles I sold have the numbers 35686 and 35687. What do these numbers represent? I need new knuckles, but the ones I am looking at have a different number number at 35663 and 35664, but look the same. Are they still the same? Thanks.

Re: Dana 44 knuckle question

Check the taper where the tie rod goes into the knuckle. Does it taper from the top or bottom? 1972 should be from the top

Re: Dana 44 knuckle question

Yeah, its tappered from the top. Larger hole on the top side. I just want to make sure the difference in the casting numbers are still the same knuckle. I will be drilling the holes for a 3/4 bolt/heim anyway. Thanks.

Re: Dana 44 knuckle question

Anybody know the difference? Does the number have something to do with the date?

Re: Dana 44 knuckle question

No difference that I can think of, unless the replacement is not of a flat top casting. Either way it should work just fine
