This came up a while back. Someone said it was to direct air to the manifolds hottest part. I guess to prevent cracking??

I have the same thing on my 72 C20, maybe its a heat sheild for the brake line or battery cable or something.

Thats an air deflector to cool down the manifold... should be an opposite one on the other side also.
