Steering Column replacement?

I am getting a 700R4 transmission. My pickup is a '73 shortbead with a 3 speed on the column. Was there a year model truck that had a 4 speed column that would be a direct fit for my '73?

I've never seen or heard of a "4 on the tree" column shifter for full size GM trucks.

The 87 had the dimmer switch on the turnsignal lever I think. You could try to swap out the turnsignal switch,I think they bolt up the same, that way you have the correct wiring. You could always move the dimmer switch too which might be a nice thing

I would try to use the column dimmer switch to control my torque converter clutch.
