'72 c10 half ton and '72 c20 three quarter ton
I have '72 custom deluxe 10 half ton. I'm looking into getting a '72 custom deluxe 20 three quarter ton with no motor or trans. Whats the difference between the two trucks? Can I interchange body parts etc.
Also my frame in the c10 is rusty and has a couple of holes in it , Whats the best way to fix it. |

There's a lot of things different between 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton chevy trucks; 72 or earlier. Heavier frame, heavier suspension parts, heavier duty springs or leafs, and added reinforcement to specfic parts like trailing arms for a coil sprung rear-end. Also, the rear-axle, it's gear ratio, and the lug pattern for the wheels.
Above this are the options, which include transmission and engines, overload springs, towing packages, camper packages, etc.

I'd never consider fixing a frame with holes rusted through it. Frames are super easy to come by. Just look on the parts board, they're on there all the time.
