Progress pics of my 70 3/4 ton.

Here are some pics of my 1970 GMC 3/4 ton truck. The first few pics are the truck when i got and it. By the look of things it might be done when I turn 16. I lowered the chassis with 3in drop spindles from GMC pauls and a rear flip kit and c notched the frame, and I still kept the 3/4 ton. For more pics go to www.geosurface.com/c25buildup

Sorry for the picture it was snowing pretty bad when I got the truck and couldnt take pictures outside.

This is it as of now.

I got it sandblasted and primed from someone else but they said they used epoxy primer. Thats all I know there but I just blew it off with air and wiped it down with a clean shop rag. For the paint I used Rustoleum gloss black with Acetone thinner, both you can get at home depot or lowes.

Great start. It's not easy working on a truck from NY. Seems like everytime you take something apart you need a set of torches, and you have to redo brake and fuel lines and exhausts every 5 years! I used to live in Ellery, it's near Jamestown on Chautauqua lake. I bought my 67 when I was 16. The pic in my avatar is how it looked in '98 when I first started driving it. I cheated though, my truck was originally from Texas, and I purchased it from a family member in SC. There's nothing more than surface rust on the frame and the body is extrememly solid. Still has the original brake lines. I moved to SC about 6 years ago. I have heard a nasty rumor that you can't get your lisense till your 17 up there now, that true?

I dont know if it is the same in NY, but in Maine, you get 3 lisences. The first one you get when your 16. you cannot have cell phones or friends in the vehicle, and you cannot drive from 6pm to 6am. you keep that for 6 months. then, the next lisence you can drive from 6pm to 6 am, still no friends or cells. you keep that one for 6 months, then the third one, cells and friends are allowed. So, in a roundabout way, you dont get your lisence until you are 17, but you can drive by yourself when your 16.

Thanks guys. 67chevy redneck very nice truck!! It wasn't in that bad of shape so torches didn't get to do too much work. As far as the lisences I not really sure but I belive its you get your permit then you have to drive 20 hours with a parent that can sign for it. Then you take the test and if you pass you can get your "restricted", you can drive to school and work and nothing else. After 6 months you can get your jrs which is a regular lisences but cant drive from 9pm to 6pm. As I said I don't know too much on this but I belive thats the way it goes. Thanks again and Funmudder good luck on your search.

Looks like your on the move. If you need something I have a 69 LWB GMC frame down here that I'll be cutting the front 18" off of. As for the rest of it just let me know what you need if you can make the trip to Pittsburgh.
