Question Ball joint ?'s

I need ball joints.I would like to use MOOG or another quality brand.I have found
1) NAPA upper $31.49 Lower $32.99 NPC brand

2)Advance upper $32.00 lower $36.99 MOOG

3) Rock Auto Upper $23.79 Lower $26.70 MOOG
Upper $27.99 Lower $28.79 AC Delco These would be approx $10.00 more with shipping on either brand.

I have heard only good about the Moog and Know NAPA usually only sells quality. I would assume (makes an a55 of u and me) that the AC Delco might be the factory pieces.

I'm leaning towrd Rock Auto because of $$$ and the brand.Soooo, any comments or suggestions? Anyone got a better deal or info on any of these brands?

Re: Ball joint ?'s

Ok, here is what I bought:
2 Moog K6147 control arm kit $111.98
2 Moog K6117T balljoint $53.98
2 Moog ES2004S adj sleeve $21.98
1 Moog K6131 pitman arm $68.99
2 ADC K6124 ball joint $63.98
2 Moog ES415RL tie rod end $47.98
2 Moog K6098 control arm kit $83.98
2 Moog ES403L tie rod end $41.98
Total with tax $524.55
You may find a cheaper kit, however these are all Moog components available locally - no shipping charges. These parts are heavy. PS - Autozone has some cheaper parts I believe they that some of the stuff was TRW. Good Luck.

Re: Ball joint ?'s

go moog.they always improve upon the factory parts so that they dont wear out near as fast.moog is the better of the suspension components. there are lots of parts which are moog but in a different box

Re: Ball joint ?'s

I too am weighing my options. What about P-S-T or espo.com? Any idea who makes Autozone Duralast?

I see kits for around $325 including some the board's sponsors. Who makes the product?

Re: Ball joint ?'s

I would buy them locally, I usually by TRW/Moog parts from Advance Auto. Numerous times I have gotten parts missing stuff/wrong in box, etc... Items that I think I may have to return or are heavy or can be damaged in shipping I buy locally even if it costs me a couple bucks more up front.

Re: Ball joint ?'s

2 years ago I was able to go into my local mom & pop parts store and buy all new Moog parts. I replaced everything from the control arm shafts out. Don't know about the price.

Re: Ball joint ?'s

I bought everything listed above at O'Reilly's. Autozone also had all the parts however they weren't Moog, some were TRW some another brand.

Re: Ball joint ?'s

I work at Oreilly and the Moogs have a lifetime warranty and usually an improved design on their parts. I have all MOOG suspension now.

Re: Ball joint ?'s

I use only Moog in the blue and yellow box. That's the premium, top of the line, "PROBLEM SOLVER" stuff. Like cableguy said, Moog makes their parts to replace and improve the factory original stuff.

A perfect example is idler arms. At the dealership, we sometimes put multiple OEM GM idler arms on a truck under 36k mile warranty. They would wear out that quickly. An aftermarket Moog Problem Solver is much beefier in every way. The difference is easy to see to the naked eye. Install one and problem solved..pun intended.
