SOme headers for my 250 inline. Guy is trying to tell me they're never used, but it's obvious (if not in the pic, atleast in person).

Anyway, a few dents and the surface-to-head is not quite flush. Guy wants 100 bucks for the pair and I'm going for it. Sounds like a good deal. I already have the headers, he's not to anal about getting the cash right away. I think he ended up putting a V8 in his Elcamino or something.

My questions.....

-Would you pay 100 bucks (no cracks, few dents)?

-What brand do ya s'pose they are? Definetly not Stovebolt... perhaps Hedman?

I think you can buy them new for 120-130 range. Maybe even less. I'd go with new headers if you have the dough.

Surface to head not flush? EXHAUST LEAKS! I wouldn't buy them.

actually if they are used, there's like no miles on em. the paint usually burns off and they look like rust after driving 1000 miles.

The cast headers are pretty nice, but If you are trying to do it on the cheap though, tube headers are going to be your best bet. The one thing to ask yourself before going with these long tube headers is, how much ground clearance do you need? If you are doing this on a 2wd with any kind of a drop, you will be none to happy with how low these sit (shifty can offer more details on his web site).
Back to the price, if the headers are warped to the point where you need to have them machined, I would say pass, ebay always seems to have a new set of these going for between $100 and $200, I saw a set of shorty headers on their just the other day.
p.s. if you have a manual transmission, make darn sure you put your z-bar bracket on BEFORE the headers! (it can be done, but at the expense of some skin, and many many many four letter words)

Luckily I have automatic and I took all of the entire clutch linkage set out. It is 2wd BUT I don't plan on lowerign mucm ore than 2 or 3 inches. DOn't think it'll be a big deal. They aren't completely flush, but not so bad that they need to be machined. I think that if you "seat" them right and bolt them on tight the leak should be non-existent if not minimal.

These brand new out of LMC (who are not cheap haha) run at about $279.00

I'm positive I can make them work. The Muffler Shop down the street said they'll fit them on for me and MAKE them work and build me a new exhaust setup for 500 bucks. It was pretty much the price range I was looking for.

You're right though Shelb! These headers reach all the way down to the freakin' tranny pan just about!
