Arrow "I'm goin' ta war, baby!"

How's that for a pickup line? The ladies get all emotional when they hear stuff like that and want to cuddle. Yeah baby, yeah!

Anyway, I'm actually going over to play in the sandbox on Nov. 11th- Veterans Day. I'll be in Iraq for 60 days- yeah, that's right- 60 days. The Air Guard is like that. I originally volunteered for our maximum which is 120 days, but the folks in D.C. only gave me 2 months. So I'll be back in mid-January.....right after the holidays have ended. Yep, I'm going to spend the holidays in Iraq. Believe me, I'm not sad at all.

Seriously, I have lot's of reasons why I want to do this and I'm really looking forward to it. I just wish I could go longer than a couple months-although I've been told that I'll be glad to get back!

So folks, I feel a little awkward accepting thanks from people for doing my job- ok, I feel very awkward hearing stuff like that, especially for a silly 60 days. So having said that, wish me luck that I'll do a great job over there and they'll want to keep me....or something like that.

Here's a pic of when I was awarded Airman of the Year a few years ago:

Again, be safe over there Brad! You decide to take your guitar? You'll need something to pick besides "up on chicks"..

I'm not going to say thank you, even though I really want to say, "Thank You" and all that are serving to protect us all!

Re: "I'm goin' ta war, baby!"

So tomorrow I'm on orders and have to out process and I have to be at the base VERY early Sunday morning to fly out. Once I'm over in Baltimore, I'm really worried about the long freakin' flight over there. I'm not sure how my butt will handle sitting in a cramped seat for so long. I think it'll be a very busy next few days since no matter how much I plan- there's always last minute stuff that crops up.
