Hello from California! - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hi there!

I am a relatively new truck owner - a couple months ago I bought a 1974 GMC Custom as a partial project, partial driver. The body and paint were ok, but the interior was thrashed, electrical was goofy, and there are a few engine problems. So I decided to jump right in and start figuring out how to repair trucks!

So far I have replaced the distributor and coil, spark plugs, wires, rebuilt the carb, torn apart the interior and installed seats, built a custom console, and am in the process of re-wiring some of the goofy electrical the last few owners did to it. I'm learning a lot....

Thanks guys! Since that pic was taken I have added 30" BF Goodrich All Terrains and a truck box that someone offed on me for free. New gas shocks and I'm good to go! At some point I have to repair the tailgate, which has some fabulous bondo job and is a different color than the rest of the truck, and a bedliner would be nice. Cosmetic stuff can wait - gotta get the truck running well first...
