Project 84 SWB

Well Im going to pick up my next project that probably wont get finished. Its an 84 shorty. I was gonna scrap my 84 long bed to build the short wide, but am starting to think neh. I recently got a 454 that needs gone through and wouldnt mind putting that in the shorty. Should I go rat or with a newer 5.3 liter? My long bed has a 350 with about 350hp and 380tq. It doesnt seem like enough sometimes but I also dont get any traction either. lol Opinions?

No I do not. And it sounds pretty easy to get 500 horse from that 454 which sparks my interest.

Re: Project 84 SWB

How much does machine work usually run to rebuild the 454? Just a ballpark assuming that nothing major is wrong.

That VortecPro is gonna be a tough engine to beat - Mark is an expert at extracting every hp out of a big block!
