Talking What does your work area look like?

I thought it would be a cool post to show our different work areas. For some of you, you have a garage, some of us are working on just concrete, or in the rocks and dirt.
this idea popped in my head when watching "horsepower t.v." Gosh wouldn't it be awesome to have the set up that they have... a paint booth, enging dyno, lifts, car dyno, sandblasting booth, and of course all the sweet tools.

We all have a love and a passion for these awesome trucks and thought it would nice to show of where we make it happen! Because not everyone is like HP t.v.

Sorry I can't get my pic up right yet... will get one up as soon as the site allows me too.

Re: What does your work area look like?

Since I am an old farmer most of my work is done under the nearest shade tree with gravel, I guess that makes me a shade tree mechanic, huh.

I hope to have a small shop built by next winter 24' by 32' for my '67 basic truck build.

Here is a picture of my GMC dually under one of my trees.

Re: What does your work area look like?

Well, this is my work area, kinda cramped, but it is still mine. Anyway, just wanted to share and see what yall think. Trust me when I say that it no longer looks this clean. Since I got my truck, I have torn the front end apart and I am getting ready to pull the engine. So, needless to say there are parts thrown all over the place. I will take a few of the garage and show yall some after photos. Yall are gonna laugh!

Re: What does your work area look like?

My play pen is 24x30 it's just not big enough, but it's all the room I had left in the back yard so it couldn't make any bigger than it is.

Re: What does your work area look like?

Though I wish I could say it was mine.....it isn't, but I get the privilege to work on my stuff here and it is beyond nice! Heated downdraft paint booth, dual prep station that is heated and has overhead shortwave infrared curing. Central Vac, Kaeser screw compressor, Car-O-Liner frame and welding equipment.

We design body shops and provide equipment to the collision repair industry and this is our fully functional training center/showroom that showcases just about everything we sell. We host ICAR training on a regular basis and a number of the major paint manufacturers use the facility as well as other entities involved in the collision repair industry.

Truly a cool place to be around.......now if it were only in my back yard!!

Check out our website if you have a chance.

Re: What does your work area look like?

Well, if a clean desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, then a clean garage (in the same vein of thought) would be a sign of a cluttered mind, too. With that I gotta say that my mind is as empty as you could possibly imagine. Pictures would be a waste of time....and memory space on the server!!

I used to blame the kids for not taking all their stuff, but I have learned that what's in there now, is mine....according to the wife. But, what does she know about "collecting" stuff? Hey, I might need that someday....

Nothing to do with the camera.....found this cool little program that makes it reall easy to shrink pics for posting and sometimes it does that little "grid" thing on the pics.....don't know....but it's free!

Re: What does your work area look like?

Ill get a few pics of mine up tonight. I am in the process of installing a ceiling fan and 6 recessed lights in an 8x10 area. Each of them will have a 23 watt (100w equal) compact fluorescent bulb (ECO friendly)!!!

Re: What does your work area look like?

I don't have a good shot really, but this is more or less where I work on mine. This is before I had it cleaned out a little more.

This is taken from the 3rd bay toward the others. This is my bud's car. He was over for some cleaning before a show.

I won't deny that it great having access to this type of equipment...BUT...it's not mine and there's a ton to be said about calling it yours!

I envy you guys that have your own shops.

Re: What does your work area look like?

well, my normal work area is the grass in front of my dads 16x16 building, or in front of my 7x14/8x8 building (2 buildings built together). if i need something like a trans jack i use a concrete pad that used to be the floor of a building my grandparents milked cows on. sometimes for quicky repairs (less than 4 hours) i use my lift at work after hours
