350 block with steel crank, block has been decked, stock rods,forged keith black dome pistons,double roller chain,comp cam 525 lift, comp lifters and pushrods, 1.5 roller rockers, double hump heads with 202 stainless one piece valves, comp springs, victor jr intake,holley 800 carb. What size converter should i use cam rpm range is 3000 to 7000 and im using a 4l60 trans.

Need a little more info. How much compression? How about the duration and lobe separation specs? Is this a hydraulic or a solid cam? Any porting done to the heads or intake? Are you using a stock stroke crank ( 3.48 ), or is this a stroker of some kind? Let me know and I'll try to give you some kind of an idea concerning h.p.

I'm with Chris all the way. Just not enough info to make any reasonable guesses about HP, and for sure not enough to try and pick a convertor.

It's easy to say making more than 400HP with stock GM castings is a major, MAJOR accomplishment,, and without porting and flow numbers or a dyno sheet you would have a hard time convincing me of 400+. Remember, the 1970 LT1 with the 186 castings, 11:1 compression and a mechanical cam was rated at 370HP "AS INSTALLED"

Just a from the hip,,, the Victor Jr is probably a LOT of intake for the 350 and you'll want a pretty loose convertor to get some RPM and torque out of it.

Like Marv said, that is a big intake for that motor with the small heads. You would be better off with a performer rpm air gap intake or other dual plane.

What are you using the truck for? strip only? mostly street and occasional strip?

Sorry guys I was trying to gather more info the 350 block is bored out 60, has a stock crank, honed and decked, forged keith black dome pistons, comp cam 525 lift, 110 lobe sep,305 duration and its a hydraulic cam, all the internals match the cam. Compression is 12 to 1. I will be using a fuel regulator with a electric fuel pump, the intake and the heads are not ported and will be using this motor on the street, let me know if the intake is to big or whats recomended thanks for any help.

From the info you listed, I'd guess power is somewhere between 365-375 or so. If you truly end up with 12:1 compression, you'll end up having to run some good fuel to keep out of detonation. As far as the converter goes, depending on the weight of the truck and the gear you're running, I'd be looking at a 10" converter that stalls somewhere around 3500 or so. I personally think you'd probably be ok with the vic. jr. I'd try it anyway, since you already have it. With a loose converter I think it would work.

I ran a vic jr with double humps but Mine was race only and had some porting and a 600/300 roller cam.

I would definitely go with a performer rpm air gap intake. You will have much better torque (fun) and a better hp and torque curve for a street machine.

The Desktop Dyno says

525hp @ 6500 and 482ft-lb @ 5000

that seems a little high to me but thats what it says

IMO way too much compression for the street. That is if that is measured compression, you need to know combustion chamber ccs and how far down or out are the pistons? I agree that the airgap intake would be better.

I ran the same engine 2 years ago,better have enough torque converter or your going to stall or wear out the brakes idling it up,Oh and I had Victor junior,It ran about 7.90 1/8 in good weather in a 3500+ pound truck, strickly strip
One of the best sounding engines I've heard!!!!
I used a TCI 3500-3800 super street fighter and still have it,but have to change with the new engines,with a T350

you figured something way wrong then on mine it says 399 6000-6500

camel hump heads only flow about 218 cfm @.500 even with 2.02 1.60

not even a head worth putting money in
