exterior light bulb question

Can someone confirm or deny these light bulb part numbers for my 1973?

sidemarkers #194
front park lights #1157
brake/tail lights #1157
rear side markers #97
backup lights #199 or #1156

I am kind of questioning the tail light part number as well as the backup lights. The tail light bulbs are push and twist type, but have a fairly small bulb. The backup lights are listed as 199, but nobody carries them. The sockets look identical to the sidemarkers...would the bulbs be the same, or are they different wattage?

I would look at my 77, but it is in storage for the winter...and all the bulbs were removed from my 73 harness when I took it apart 8 years ago.

Thanks in advance!

Re: exterior light bulb question

The problem I am having is with the rear sidemarkers. Autoparts store gave me a number for a bulb with a push and twist connector, my sockets look identical to my front sidemarkers.

Anyone else have an idea/

Boat, the site was not able to help.

EDIT: I found it on there...I'll call some other local stores to see if they have them. GM must have used two different bulbs types thruought the years.

Thanks all.

I have always used 194's in the push ins as well. Never had any problems.

Re: exterior light bulb question

Yup, the 194's it is.

I wonder why the books said otherwise? The book only went back to 91...but I looked up Suburban, and it said to use a completely diff bulb. Perhaps a type in the book, who knows.

Thanks for the help fellas
