Re: How Many Plow Truck Owner's on Here?

Nice. I'm wanting a plow of my own. Never seem to find one close enough or reasonable enough though.

Re: How Many Plow Truck Owner's on Here?

My uncle has a 96 F350 Powerjoke Plow truck and an 80-87 3/4 6.2L plow truck.

Not enough snow here for one. I'd just use the Massey Ferg.

Re: How Many Plow Truck Owner's on Here?

Been plowing since 1979. Have had plows on 3 Chevys. A K30 dually pickup, K10 Suburban, and K10 pickup. The Suburban was handiest at handling the 8.5 Western Pro Plow. Retiring the K10 pickup now and picking up the pieces to mount one on the CUCV. I do have one other plow.

Bonus info.....The tailgate on my K10 is blue and the hood doesn't match any of the other visible colors either! Lol...

Re: How Many Plow Truck Owner's on Here?

Hey Dooley, which north coast do you live on?Man,that CUCV will make a great snow pusher.
Rick,I love what you did there. That`s a great truck!I`ve never headr of anyone doing that swap(amazingly) and always wondered about that since I bought my`92 new.hmmm...

I got out of it.But,Here`s my old rig.It was my daily driver/work truck.I used to pull the side boxes during plow season.

Re: How Many Plow Truck Owner's on Here?

That solid axle under Rick's truck looks right at home there!
Special K , your truck looked better as a pickup with the larger wheels/tires but, likely more useful with the service bed.
I'm gathering the pieces for a Unimount for the CUCV so that I will not have to bother the front bumper and grille guard. We get a lot of snow on the south side of the lake here!

I'm told the cucv's are rather affordable. Is this true? Where do one go for purchase?

They can be bought on the cheap side at times from http://www.govliquidation.com/vehicles.html
I bought mine from through a fellow that buys regularly from the GL. That cost me more but, I could see what I was getting beforehand. You can get a lot of information about buying from the GL on http://www.steelsoldiers.com/forum.php Drop down the page to the section dealing with Buying from Government Liquidation.

Rick and Tim- cool pics My buddies want me to plow with them this winter but I can't afford to get started. There's a ton of money to be made WHEN it snows.

Re: How Many Plow Truck Owner's on Here?

Yeah. When I was doing it I was doing it by contract.I paid for my plow plus $400 in two snowfalls. That was all we had that year, but I was good to go.Plus made money spreading urea.We made more that year spreading than plowing. We charged per bag.

I had to get a picture of this today. It`s in front of a Maryland State Roads shop.To those who don`t know, that`s the Maryland flag, designed after Lord Baltimore`s coat of arms.I think it`s a cool design...

I picked up an Ultamount with Unimount converter for my CUCV. Now I need the rest of that setup. Here's a CUCV/plow I spotted on another site.

2000 Dakota, 7.5' Western plow. Although I am not the "owner", it belongs to the company I work for, but you still need my permission to drive it!

I'm still looking for a deal on a Unimount or Ultramount Western Plow setup for my CUCV. Along the way I found this plow for $400.00! I might have to get that for my Dump.

Here`s what I do my driveway with:

Ya think?
Here`s friend`s rig:

I`d like to get another set-up.When I was into it I envisioned a Blazer with a 1/2 cab, spreader on back, and 3/4-1t drivetrain.I`d paint it hiway yellow with a flat black hood surface, mount tall skinnies, and serious lighting.
