add-a-leaf vs. new factory stock front springs
83 chevy half ton 4x4 front. Springs are saggy and flat. What would be the height difference in add-a-leaf vs. new factory stock front springs? I only need 2-4 inches. Street truck.

The front springs on these trucks were near flat to begin with. I'd get a set of 2" lift springs and you should be all right.

Add-A-Leafs give about a 2" lift over stock. You need to determine if you springs are sagging or just stock.

Before I replaced my front springs (with 2.5" Softrides), I installed AALs on my sagging OEM springs. If memory serves, I gained about 1". No idea about brand or specs on the AALs....

My experience with AAL's is they ride like a chuck wagon. Worse than lift springs and they severely limit flex.

You might check out SD springs. I just bought a new set of stock springs. It was about $270 to my door for the pair.
