My brother is selling a 1969 396 Chevrolet Big Block. It is a 1969 350 hp 2 bolt main block with a casting number of 3955272. The date code on the block is K18 8 which is November 18, 1968. It is bored .030 over and has Speed Pro Forged Pistons, moly rings, and a steel crank. It has been professionally built and the rotating assembly has been balanced. It has a mild performance cam in it, with a heavy duty double roller timing chain. It has 454 heads on it that have been machined to work with a 396 block. The number on the head is 336781 and have stainless steel valves, heavy duty springs and retainers, and roller tipped rockers. It has 9.5:1 compression, and has a iron spreadbore intake with number GM1 3883948 on it that will work with a Quadrajet. It has around 400 hp. This engine has never been fired up and needs to be broke in. The price is $2,900. You can send me a PM and I will give you my brothers phone number if you are interested. He lives in Muncy, PA. ttt. You can't build an engine like this for that price now days. Also, the engine stand is avalible if you would like to buy it.

I agree wholeheartedly, I just spent $2600 on a Vortec 383. Machine work and parts, i need some other stuff and I need to build it myself!! If you weren't so far away, i'd like to have another BBC to add to my ever growing heard or 6-8 BBC's. I pasted the info for those numbers from mortec to help anyone interested to see what the numbers mean. Hope that helps, great deal!!
