Re: mustang II
dunno ... but why would you want it? compared to a dropmember or a raised crossmember it brings nothing in the way of advantages to these trucks.

Re: mustang II
I have never researched them based on weight savings, so I can't guide you there.
Are you looking for bolt in, weld in, or custom fabbed? There are several companies that make an MMII based IFS conversion.

Re: mustang II
Take a look at Scotts Hotrods to start with. It's similar in design to the MMII but built to handle the weight of a full size vehicle.
After looking at several options for my 82 Blazer it was the IFS I chose for that project. ![]()

Re: mustang II
I looked into it for my '73. Fatman fab. makes one 75lbs lighter 2200$ rotor to rotor.

Re: mustang II
I'm losing about 150 lbs on the front end with my C4 DM and an aliminum R&P as compared to stock. About 100 lbs of that is unsprung weight.

Re: mustang II
I took a ton of weight off with my hood.
I tried a mustang 2 before i built my frame and if you are going to air ride it then it wont lay out or lift high enough for a truck so i got ride of it.. i would recommend either a cross member from fat man fab, porterbuilt or suicide to be honest. But if your going for weight reasons then keep what you have and order a 572 from Summit but up grade the brakes because you'll need them ![]() ![]() Last edited by scotts62; 01-03-2010 at 03:13 PM. |
