I bought new vent window rubber for my '71.
Last night i started on one of them. It took me quite a while to get both sides of the "foot" down in the channel. I sprayed some silicone down in around everything and I still had a lot of trouble.
I still don't think i got it down in the front corner like it should be.
Is there some sort of trick to this or is it just going to be a pain?

I had the same problem so i slightly pryed the channel apart so it would go in slightly easier and in the sharp corner i cut some of the rubber off so it would go in. It may not be the right way but that is how i did mine and the rubber is in there good and tight and i crimped the channel back some. hope that helps

I just did this. I had to take the frame apart and rivet it together again . When I put the new rubber in I used dish soap as a lubricant. It's very slippery, and then washes off easily.
