Cab switch or patch panels

[O'skool 72GMC]

I'll get some pics but Ive got a lil rust issue on my 72GMC 3/4 4x4.
The new bed is coming satrday, but I'm not sure what to do about the cab.
I use the truck as my daily driver so the least downtime the better. I was thinking of using patch panels to fix the rockers and body mounts and a section on the a pillar passenger side. but then a nice clean new cab sounds better but alot more work with switching out everything.
Ideas?
Opinions?
Tips?
