Re: Pictures of steering column
Hi guys!
The pictures show my new column and PS Box. I mount a new rag joint and my old couple on the box. The shaft comes with the column and I let it run trough the old shaft. The spring and washer is from my old steering. I don't know if this is working, but it looks right, or? Should I drill the two holes on the shaft and fastened it? My question is simply: Does this make any sense to you? Need feedback. |

Re: Pictures of steering column
That is a collapsible shaft in the case of a collision and it's supposed to look just like that.

Re: Pictures of steering column
Yes it's drive able. And no, don't drill holes and fasten it. If anything take it back off and put a little bit of grease on that shaft so in case of a collision the shaft collapses instead of staying put and injuring you.

Quote:
Should I put it on the end of the shaft instead? Now the shaft is lose inside both the column and the intermediate shaft. |

Re: Pictures of steering column
I believe the spring is intended to hold pressure on the bearing cup, bottom of column, spring, washer, clamp.
