Correct voltage meter wiring question

I have an Autometer Voltage gauge to put in my dash...my question is what is the correct wiring of this ??

Does the - terminal on the guage go to the positive side of the battery ??

and then what about the + terminal ?? does this go to the alternator ?? and if so which wire on the alt. ??

thanks for any and all help.
