Finally bought the Harbor Freight Tool Cart

Been getting tired of no more space for tools. Storage room in my tool boxes finally maxed out where it was becoming a pain to add anything to them. So when I saw this item on a Harbor Freight 'daily sale special' for $129.99 last night I tried to purchase on-line to later pick-up at the store. Only problem, couldn't get their web site to take the coupon discount from 149.99. Stopped in today after work and they sold it to me for the 'daily special' price I saw last night. (tried for the 99.99 special price)

Granted, I remember seeing it once for 99.99 and missed that sale too.

Yet I recall reading some good feedback on its overall quality and have looked at it before. Actually a decent roll-around tool cart once assembled and sturdy. Drawers function with no problem, lock works and actually the thing is heavier than it looks. Not flimsy at all.

Since what I really wanted was cheap drawer and storage space to take some of the overflow from the Craftsman boxes this should do it for now and put organization back to where it needs to be.

Was an easy assemble and no problems if anyone considers one of these. Pondering some modifications down the road but at least for now this will work for its intentions. I was really surprised though at just how heavy it is and sturdy. Even the casters are better than many on more expensive boxes. This one even came with the liners from the top to the lower shelf...and that was a surprise.

A thumbs up. No complaints.

Re: Finally bought the Harbor Freight Tool Cart

Wow!!! I've been waiting to buy that cab too! My store says they will only sell it to me for $129 during the post-Thanksgiving Day Sale at the end of the month -- so am waiting till then. I've been mulling over getting five drawer red one but I'm not convinced it's worth the $70 more at their $199 special price. The more expensive box is a bit larger, one extra drawer, and the automatic drawer lock feature... Nah, I'm going for the cheap black one!

I, too, have outgrown a pair of rollcabs with middle and top boxes. The first set is an old MAC box from the days (way old days!) when MAC built a better box than SNAP-ON. It's bolted together and bolted down from the inside to the concrete floor and locked every night so hasn't been a roll-around for many decades. Done that so the thieves can't just roll my tools into their U Haul rent a truck and abscond with them. Has slowed them down a little, as these boxes have survived a couple of shop cleanouts by the bandits over the years. Other roll cab is a Craftsman -- just ain't worth buying expensive boxes to have them ripped off again.

Re: Finally bought the Harbor Freight Tool Cart

Well, waited until the toolbox went on sale here for $129 - happened the week before Thanksgiving! Dynamite box, but I probably spent my savings in getting button head SS bolts for bolting the casters on - I didn't like the lumpy hex head bolts on the lower shelf. They would have been better off using carriage bolts like the rest of the bolt together. Love it for the overflow of tools I have had from my other roll-cabs, and the black matts in all drawers and box surfaces are really neat and toughest I have seen. Overall, a good purchase. It's already full!

The above HF link was good while it lasted, but I think they pulled the 20% coupon. I printed off several, used one, and thinking I'd be a good buddy to my brother-in-laws gave 'em the remaining coupons over Thanksgiving, with the idea that I'd print off a couple more, only to discover that it doesn't link to the coupon anymore -- only to their website.

Either that or they discovered who I really am!

Re: Finally bought the Harbor Freight Tool Cart

My brother bought two of the same tool cart when they were on sale in Marion. I missed the sale and bought a smaller red one without drawers, it works real well for what I needed it for.
