Black Friday Sales?

What is Black Friday? May be I'm missing the point? So I'm going to over charge all year long just to offer a special for one day?! Hell NO! Here at Scott's its Black Friday every day, we're not going to penalize you and take your hard earned cash just to slap you in the face and say you could have saved more by buying such-n-such day... To get a discount at Scott's you must either be a dealer or forum member in order to get a discount!

Is it Just me or am I missing the point?

Re: Black Friday Sales?

Marketing gimmick, but it works. They post a few leader items at a loss so they can get you in the stores and move some volume.

We appreciate your offering blowout prices every day...

Re: Black Friday Sales?

I worked for a jeweler years ago that explained to me that sale pricing is like an over coat. You have to put it on before you can take it off. When I worked for Service Merchandise they always marked up the jewelry X% 6 weeks prior to a sale so they didn't get bagged with a false pricing. Nothing was ever realy on sale. It was just knocked back down to the original price from an inflated price 6 weeks ago.

Re: Black Friday Sales?

A electrical supply house used to say ''we only mark it up 2%'' as in times two.
