Re: 1948 ls1 5 speed truck
Shannon, you will end up with 11 1 /2 total depth measuring from top of bed rails to the floor surface. There is a fine line without major modifications to acheve this depth. I used 3/4 elm in this truck. The truck i am working on at the present time i tweeked it a little more by raising the whole truck up 1 1/2 inches and it has right at 13"total depth........hope this helps.

Re: 1948 ls1 5 speed truck
How far off the frame did you mount the cab? The reason I ask is it looks like your motor is really high...but I can't quite tell what you've got for an intake on it so it may just appear high.
What 5 speed did you use? Looks nice!

Are the Boss rims? Width and diameter?

Re: 1948 ls1 5 speed truck
Its a 5.3 truck engine with a 2010 camaro lid custom fitted. The trans is a 1 piece trans from a 2000 chevy truck............it took some study but works great with the right parts.....most guys say they dont work, but i have proven different.

Re: 1948 ls1 5 speed truck
What length throttle cable did you use? 36"?
I'd love to see a close up pic of that engine bay if you've got one. Looks Great!

Re: 1948 ls1 5 speed truck
I used the stock s- 4.3 throttle cable. Made a small modification to the end where it hooks to the throttle body. I dont have any close ups at the present time. I will take some more pictures when the weather warms up.....thanks for looking.

The rims are boss 338. 18x9 1/2. I run 1 1/2" spacers front and rear I probably wont be taking any more pics until the weather gets better. Tucked in and coverd up for the winter.....thanks for looking.

Re: 1948 ls1 5 speed truck
Truck looks great. Is your trans an nv3500? Also how did you mount your pedals, they look like ones from an s10 but I couldnt mine to look that nice.

Yes, its the all aluminum 1 piece NV 3500. All s-10 pedals, just made minor mods, they just fit great. Thanks for looking.

Re: 1948 ls1 5 speed truck
Heres how i see it. GM put these trans in a bunch of trucks with stock v8 and v6 engines and i have seen them run for thousands of miles. So for the price difference i will take my chances. Actually if you try hard enough you can tear any thing up with a 4 cylinder in front of it. So treat it with respect and have fun with your swap.......thanks.

Re: 1948 ls1 5 speed truck
Beautiful truck. I have been thinking about the same color. Can you tell me a little about the interior. That looks like molded carpeting and are those Chevelle seats and console??

Re: 1948 ls1 5 speed truck
The interior is ostrich material. I just got it finished this past january. I made the under dash console and the center console. The seats are from a 2000 camaro, i took the headrests off before reupholstery job. Hope this helps.
