Re: Truck Powered Hot Rod Truck

I wonder what he was turning that. 2 cycles sound like they're running twice as fast, since firing every stroke.
I drove a 318 V-8 detroit back in mid-60s. Hated the sound of it, but really like driving it. They'd pull with about anything back in those days. 318s were governed at 2400, but we drove and shifted at 18 and 2100.
My brother hauled funiture and had a 238 Detroit in CO4000 Int./w single axle. Got lots of good service out it too.

Cool truck. Reminds me of the V-12 Allison motors that were once popular with tractor pullers. They were gas powered, but they sure did buzz...

Aside from the awesome supercharged classic 12 cyl diesel, that truck has some great hot rod fab work done to it. Talk about chromed out, too!

Re: Truck Powered Hot Rod Truck

Yeah, saw an article about that truck, oddly enough, in Popular mechanics about a year ago. Very interesting.
