Valentines Day steak?

Stopped at Safeway tonight to grab a couple of steaks for the BBQ when I ran into these babies. Personally I think they are kinda creepy looking, hork! (heh) But the lady standing by me thought they were kinda cool. I picked up a couple of rib steaks instead.

Re: Valentines Day steak?

I agree, it looks kind of creepy. But after it is cooked it will look like heaven!

Re: Valentines Day steak?

That is a rib eye, its just a thick cut (some call them a Delmonico) boneless steak split. I used to be a meat cutter for Publix, they did the same thing. And yes, I agree, kinda creepy. lol

Re: Valentines Day steak?

For some reason the expression,"Eat your heart out",comes to mind. Creepy, yes. I grilled up some plain ole naturally shaped NY strips marinaded in McCormick's Montreal Steak...num yummy! At my Safeway they were selling two stuffed lobsters in those heart shaped containers. I went to the plain ole pair of lobsters as well. I'm so unromantic and CHEAP! LOL

You may be on to something. We make chocolate milk from cows, why not chocolate meat?

Re: Valentines Day steak?

That's so bizarre. I thought to myself yesterday "I wonder if anyone special cuts a heart-shaped steak for valentine's day"...

Re: Valentines Day steak?

Nothing says "I love you" more than raw meat. I thought heart shape pizza was pushing it! Being the man pig that I am I could overlook the packaging for a good steak.
