250 inline questions
i am putting electronic ignition on my old stock 1969 250 inline.
the distributor came from a 1976 camaro. so what plugs do i use and what do i gap them at? i am building this thing for good smooth drivability, if that matters. also i am putting a th350 dehind this thing. what flexplate do i need? 150 something toothed one or the 160 something tooth flexplate. also will a mini starter meant for a small block work on my six? thanks for any light that you can shed on this. Tony

Re: 250 inline questions
The HEI drops right in, you'll need to remove the ballast resistor or replace the risistor wire that feeds the distributor. Points get full voltaged during cranking from the starter then a reduced voltage when running, HEI wants full voltage all the time. Search the forum for threads on how to make the wiring change.
For a TH350, depends on what is in it now. Assuming it's a manual, check that your block has 2 holes drilled in it for the starter. If so, they are probable straight across which indicates a small flex plate. Yes aftermarket starters will work, they're overkill unless you have a lot of cam and compression. Be sure to use the correct starter bolts and the strap at the front of the starter if using a Delco unit.

Re: 250 inline questions
As far as plugs go, you can use the same ones or one size colder. Regap them to .045.
