E brake convert to foot operated mechanism

Anyone done this ? Thinking of updating to a late 60's foot e brake mechanism.Dont know if it can be done..,hope someone has or can recommend a way to do it.No longer a fan of the network under the dash !

Thanks for the info,however the set up in the foot mech should work from a later 60s c10 as the e brake is all the same up to the firewall.Already finished the frame and dont want to weld or have to change system.

After much time and consideration,I went the way of the link you sent.I ended up mounting the cable through the original hole in the frame and then mounted the brackets inside the frame rail so the system is hidden.
