67-72 Chevy & GMC Fender differences

Jim Carter Classic Truck Parts sells a front fender half that is formed as a 1968 Chevy but they indicate it will fit 1967 and 1969-72 models with slight modification on end. I called them to find out what the slight modifiction was and they indicated the side marker light hole. Well, I have a 72 GMC and I prefer the two headlight set up on Chevys plus I think the Chevy grill looks much better. 1968 Chevy and 1968-72 GMC fenders are the same so I am thinking I can use my stock fenders and replace the radiator support, headlight buckets and grill. Am I right about this?
