interior cab light

Ok,so i been trying to get my interior lights working, under the dash bulb works, but it stays on all the time, dome light stays on when closing the door,it suppost to stay on when door open and off when door close right, well that was couple days ago, i checked with a volt meter today to see if there was any power n theres none, i trace the white and orange wire to the fuse box, on the pic its connected to the left-top side... i unplug it n check for power n theres none...

i trace all the wires from both side doors and pass side door goes to the under light connection, from there goes up with 2 whites and 1 orange wire back to under the steering wheel into the 3 fuse/relay box on the first 2 pics... can someone tell me if theres something i should be checking...
thanx..

Re: interior cab light

If all is wired as stock, the orange wire will have 12V at all times. The white wire will have ground when doors are open. If they stay on all the time you have a short to ground in the white wire, or failed door pin switch. Check these first, back the door pins out carefully and isolate them from the body. If the lights go out fix or replace the pin switch.

The orange wire gets the power from the fuse box ? I follow the orange wire n goes to the the fuse box plug in to the first top left spot.but theres no power.not sure if that the right spot for that wire..

Re: interior cab light

Fleet72 beat me to it. I have had problems with many door switches in the past on cars at work and a couple of my own.

Re: interior cab light

Some sell a generic switch, lot of plastic. They ate not the same quality and won't look factory, lot of metal-little plastic. Make sure the thread sizes are the same.
