Question Taking Truck to Bare Metal

I have a 1952 GMC that has been repainted at least twice. I don't know what types of paint and fillers were used. I want to take it to bare metal to start over with the body before paint. I read about meda blasting, chemical stripper, sanding with 80 grit or stripper pads. I do not like using chemical stripper because of the mess. Looks like 80 grit on a DA would take for ever to cut through all the layers. What have you used that worked well? If you have used the stripper pads where did you buy them and how many would be needed for the whole truck? Did you use them on a 4.5" grinder?
