C10/C20 Notch Kit. Same Frame?
I am trying to determine if the 1966 C20 has the same frame as the C10? The reason I ask is because I found a notch kit I am interest in but they only make it for the C10. They said they are not sure if the C20 has the same dimensions as the C10.
Can anyone answer to this? |

Re: C10/C20 Notch Kit. Same Frame?
I think they are pretty much the same. My 63 GMC is a 3/4 ton and everything fit on it just fine.

Re: C10/C20 Notch Kit. Same Frame?
I have been calling around to see if the frames are the same and have found that it is a 50/50 split on opinions so far. Here is what I came up with so far.
-McGaughy's says the are the same frames. In fact the guy went out into the shop while on the phone with me and crawled under a C30 and checked. He said the dimensions were the same as a C10. -POL says they are the same as well. He says they have sold many kits to C20 owners. -CPP says that they are NOT the same. That the dimensions are different. -AVS is not sure either way but does not think that they are the same. Has anyone installed a c-notch kit in a C20 or does anyone know for sure if the rails are the same dimensions? |

Re: C10/C20 Notch Kit. Same Frame?
between 1/2 and 3/4 t the differences for weight capacity is in the suspension, axles and tires the only difference is in "K" series where the frame is deeper in the middle section. 1t are deeper in the middle to rear of the frames and again heavier capacities are accomplishes by suspension, axles and tires.

Re: C10/C20 Notch Kit. Same Frame?
Thanks everyone for your help. It sounds like the frames in that area are pretty much the same. Now I can move onto my next question :-)
