Need info on 4x4 swap
Hi guys I posted this in the 68-72 forum and was told I would get better help here. I've got a 71 c/20 that I would like to convert to 4wd. An opportunity to buy an 81 k/20 has come up. My first thought was to drop the 71 body on the 81 frame. I'm now thinking it would be easier to just convert the 71. What do you guys think?

Re: Need info on 4x4 swap
Welcome from Las Vegas.. The frame dimensions are different so you'll have to fab new body mounts.... I would just swap the front spring mounts or go aftermarket... DIY4X.COM is a place to start.... How you plan to use the truck will help decide what to use and how to build it.... Daily Driver, Rock Crawler, Huge lift for show, Desert Racer?

Take look at http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=310493 that will give you the idea of how much work it is to do.

Re: Need info on 4x4 swap
I may be picking up a 67 GMC C30 and I already have a Dana 60 and a 14 bolt rear out of a 84 K30 C&C. I have been contemplating this conversion also.
